Gardener of Pallas
Overview
The Gardener of Pallas is an Imperial title appointed by the senators of Urizen, announced during the Summer Solstice 385YE. The original Gardens of Pallas were originally commissioned by Juliana of Phoenix Reach as the Civilian Commissioner of Urizen during the Autumn Equinox 380YE and overseen by the Head Gardener of Urizen. The gardens were destroyed during the Druj invasion of Zenith shortly before the Spring Equinox 382YE and were left ruined until an appraisal was requested under the guidance of Lutomysla Niegoslava. Lutomysla presented their findings before the Summer Solstice 385YE that suggested a radical overhaul, including making use of ushabti and support from Fountainhome Spire. Work on the Gardens of Pallas was announced by the Nikolai as the Bearer of an Imperial Wayleave during the Summer Solstice 385YE and completed shortly before the Autumn Equinox 386YE.
Responsibilities
The Gardener of Pallas receives a substantial income in herbs each season. There is some expectation that they will use their herbs to benefit the people of Zenith, and more widely Urizen, and if anything were to threaten the Gardens of Pallas it would be their responsibility to deal with the threat.
Powers
Bounty of the Garden
The Gardener of Pallas receives an income of herbs each season: 7 drams of true vervain and 5 drams each of bladeroot, Imperial roseweald, marrowort and cerulean mazzarine.

The Gardener of Pallas has access to a ministry, allowing them to hire skilled magicians and artisans to oversee the specialised ushabti in order to get more herbs. The Gardener makes their decision on how much money to spend during downtime from their character page. Money is removed from, and herbs are placed into, the character's inventory when the downtime is processed.
Boon of the Nightwoven
The Gardener of Pallas receives four drams of realmsroot each season from the nine mithril-infused monoliths in the shape of the Fountain constellation that take advantage of the magical changes wrought by the Druj.
Fountainhome Support
The Garden of Pallas is also home to a dedicated greenhouse for Fountainhome Spire. Their magical aid and excellent location of the Gardens of Pallas means that the general standard of life across the territory has been substantially improved, with good quality fruit, vegetables, herbs, and spices supplementing the more mundane provender grown in Proceris. The help from Fountainome Spire also means that the Gardens of Pallas serves as a great work, providing every mana site in Zenith with three drams of random herbs each season.
The magician-healers of Fountainhome Spire are clear that they have a great deal of respect and affection for Ossegrahn, and some of their advanced techniques rely on aid from the heralds of the eternal. If Ossegrahn is ever declared an enemy of the Empire by the Imperial Conclave, they will no longer be prepared or able to support the Garden of Pallas or the people of Zenith.
Botanists from Bleak Spire
The Garden of Pallas serves as a base of operations for several horticulturists from Bleak Spire. These herbalists were some of the workers at the original Gardens of Pallas before the Druj destroyed it. Fleeing to Morrow, they were instrumental in the establishment of the Bleak Tower where they remained until Galene Netherwatch was sent by the Urizen Assembly to enact a mandate to encourage them to face their fears and return to the rebuilt Garden. Now, the botanists support the herb gardens of Zenith in the form of a great work producing three drams of random herbs each season.
Appointment
The Gardener of Pallas is appointed during the Autumn Equinox each year. It is chosen by unanimous decision of the Urizen senators. If a unanimous decision cannot be reached, the title may be appointed by the Imperial Senate instead.
The title can be held by any Urizen citizen. The Gardener can be revoked by the General Assembly, the Urizen National Assembly, and by the Assembly of the Nine.
