Cards & Lammies
Most cards are used to indicate in-game items with special properties. In-game, the cards don’t exist, so players should always have some physical object to represent the actual item, as well as any card or lammy.
Herbs
Herbs are all cards; players largely receive these in their event packs, and we refer to the basic pack of herbs that goes into an event pack as a “herb garden”: 2 bladeroot, 2 cerulean mazzarine, 2 imperial roseweald, 2 marrowort, 6 true vervain.
Potions
Represented as a mixture of cards and lammies. Players will come to GOD to mix potions
Mana Crystals & Vis
Both are represented as cards
Crystallised mana is used in some potion recipes and in magic. As with herbs, mana mostly gets given to players in their event packs, and we refer to the basic pack of mana crystals as a “mana site” (seven cards).
There are six types of “vis”, one for each of the magical realms. One vis is worth three crystallised mana, but only when used for a ritual in the relevant realm. The realm is helpfully included in the first line of small text on the cards.
Liao
Represented as cards, and used in ceremonies performed by priests. The basic set of liao cards that goes into event packs is five.
Not to be confused with True Liao, which is much rarer and is represented by Ribbons
Anointing Cards
Also referred to as “virtue cards” or "aura cards"
Anointing cards don’t represent real items- they’re used by priests who are performing the “Anointing” ceremony, who can then give the cards out to the folk they’ve anointed. The cards are specific to each of the in-game virtues, and tell the player the roleplaying effect of the anointing they’ve received.
Wounds
Wound lammies are given out by refs in certain circumstances, to provide details of a wound a character has suffered. They’re very rarely relevant to GOD, but they do exist, and you may see them or need to laminate them sometimes.
