"DON'T PANIC" Douglas Adams, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

Hello, and welcome to the GOD team.

Hopefully you've already had a chance to review the introduction for all crew. If you haven't already, all crew need to know the contents of the Crewing guidelines and Crew Protocol. In particular, we'd like to highlight:

  1. Enjoy yourself!
  2. Don't guess!.

There are some additional guidelines that apply specifically to GOD crew:

  • Ensure personal data (credit card info, contact details, &c.) are not left on display. We are obliged under the Data Protection Act to handle such data responsibly and keep it confidential.
  • Log out of the PD website when you leave a computer. If you take control of a terminal from someone else and they haven't logged themselves out, do it for them. All actions taken on crew interfaces is logged for audit purposes; in the event of a review, it makes it much easier to work out what has happened later if all the actions are logged against the right person's account.
  • Escalate any complaints to the heads of department immediately. In keeping with the Supporting players policy, all complaints should be escalated to a head of department without delay; you're not expected to field it yourself.
  • Be scrupulous and try to avoid any appearance of taking unfair advantage. Volunteering in GOD gives easy access to in-game resources. Be aware of, and try to avoid, any appearance of a conflict of interest. For example, don't book your own resources (or a partner's!) in or out.
