Crimes Description Accused & plea Verdict & punishment
Mass Murder The accused confessed to killing a house full of Dawnish citizens. The circumstances were that he was taken prisoner by the House of Lord Lucien De Loire and tortured, forced to fight other prisoners and starved for six long years. When he and the other prisoners escaped Errol and some others stayed behind to buy time for their wounded to escape by setting fire to the house and killing anyone who got out. Evidence gathered by the Dawnish milita supported many of these facts and it is strongly suspected that this House were followers of vengeance. Errol, Bailiff of the Grand Market plead guilty. Clemency was plead on his behalf by Sister Meredith of the Marches on the grounds of loyalty, including his desire to leave no one behind and the necessity of taking this extreme action immediately.

Murder and resisting arrest The accused resisted legal arrest with murderous force, leading to the deaths of over 200 Varushkan soldiers and most of the inhabitants of Crows Keep. The court was moved only slightly by the clemency plea for Dogri Thulebane on the grounds of loyalty to the people of Crows Keep and Skarsind. This was on the grounds that his actions had the direct consequence of leading to the deaths of most of his people, and the destruction of Crows Keep. The clemency pleas for the other accused were accepted on the grounds that it was not within their power to legally prevent the battle and their virtue compelled them to act. Dogri Thulebane, Ranulph six lives and Mhira Valoing plead guilty and clemency was plead by Jorma Steelhail for the first two named accused (on grounds of loyalty and courage, respectively) and by Cerwynn Brackensong for Mhira, on the grounds of loyalty.
Guilty. Dogri Thulebane was sentenced to death. By their request this was to be carried out by Mother Thane of Wintermark by sundown. Subsequently the court acquiesced to a request for him to die in battle, before sundown.
