388YE Spring Equinox Senate sessions

The Imperial Senate governs the Empire, and its authority extends to all areas of Imperial life not already covered by the other houses of government. Each summit the senators meet several times to deliberate and vote on the motions they have raised.

After the summit, the civil service enacts those motions and ensures a public record of each is made available to the citizens of the Empire. This page lists all the motions raised during the summit, along with the announcements made by citizens with Imperial titles. In each case, the motion and its effects are summarised, including the wording, who proposed and seconded it, whether it passed or not, whether any funds were disbursed to support it, and what the outcome of the motion will be.

Many motions (especially the commissions) also have a Further Details section that provides a link to a wiki page dealing specifically with that motion in more detail, any commentary from the Constitutional Court, progress on commissions, or expanded information about the outcome of the motion.

Administrative Motions

Acknowledge Axou claim to Thornfen

Motion: The Empire will not contest the claim of the Axou to the region of Thornfen, including the Tower of the Skink, in accordance with the existing treaty between the Empire and the Axou.

Note: This follows from civil service advice in the Other monstrous geographies wind of war and the current treaty with the Axou. This motion will be subject to the Urizen assembly to veto, as it concedes a region under their control.

Amend Master of the Mint

Motion: Amend the Master of the Imperial Mint to give them the power to make an announcement in the Senate once a season to direct the civil service to review a previous appraisal or opportunity.

Note: This follows on from a previous motion to hire the three additional prognosticators raised during Winter 387YE. If this motion is passed, then the Master of the Imperial Mint would gain the power to make an announcement in the Senate to review a previous appraisal or opportunity, as per the Forever is composed of nows wind of fortune. If this motion is passed, then the Master of the Imperial Mint will be able to make use of the power at one of the following sessions.

Amend Liberty Pact

Motion: To make the following amendments to the Liberty Pact: 1) The requirement that each signatory to the Liberty Pact enforce free trade with the other signatories should be replaced with a prohibition on embargo between members of the Pact. Members of the Pact should trade with each other, but should be free to set their tariffs to best support themselves. 2) The creation of two degrees of Membership. Members of the Pact will have full rights and voting ability. Signatories will be protected by the Liberty Pact, and have the rights due all members, but will not be permitted to raise amendments or vote.

Amend Grand Inspiration of the Way

Motion: To amend the design of the Grand Inspiration of the Way to incorporate seven great bells, one to represent each Virtue. The designs and inscriptions for these bells is to be decided by Prosperous and Virtuous citizens of the Empire, to be auctioned at next summit at the Auction for the Grand Inspiration of the Way. This will add 30 crowns to the virteu fund, each season, upon completion, and without using a commission allow for the substitution of 49 white granite of its current cost, with equal amounts of mithril.

Amend Manifesto of Silver Chalice

Motion: To amend the manifesto of the Silver Chalice as follows. The order holds the following to be true: Life flows through each of us; our magic allows us to reach out to our fellows and nurture that life, mend what is broken, and bring what is torn apart back together; Magic is one of many tools that can and should be used for healing, working alongside other methods to holistically heal the whole person; The strength of the Empire relies on its citizens, thus by keeping citizens healthy, we strengthen the Empire. Therefore the order exists to: Utilise healing magic and other tools to aid others and prevent harm, promote understanding of health and encourage a culture of wellness, and research new healing rituals and spells; Ensure that Conclave is reminded of the value of life, and that it makes decisions with that value in mind; and work with others who are invested in all aspects of healing, including bodies that represent such individuals, such as the Anvil Hospital

And a disbursement of funds.
