Overview | |||
Title: Surveyor Eastern spring farm
Taking hints from the land here being one of the most fertile in Scarsind
and thought that some of this fertility could be harnessed into a mana sinecure, maybe there’s an old broken spring Regio up in the mountains at the head of a water spring that feeds down into the farm land.
something about even orcs with little to no farming knowledge finding farming in this area easy and maybe often finding fragments of mana crystals in the soil and the farther away from the water inlet to the field the less power the crystals have left in them as if the magic is feeding the land a bit.
Through better management of the waters coming down from the spring small streams that often soaked into the rock or lead of into untamed outcrops are channelled using a series of mithril lined water chutes directed into various large suspended mithril pans and sifting platforms some of the magic can be drawn out of the waters and solidified into usable mana crystals that shine with a gentle, golden glow. In Winter when the spring sometimes freezes
over mana can be harvested from soil its self by The process of cooking the soil in the mithril pans over a fire then panned in the same way that gold of often found.
Responsibilities | |||
The responsibility of the farmer of the eastern spring farm are to maintain a balance between the amount of magic taken from the streams and continuing the prosperity of the farms below. The eastern spring farmer would also be in charge of overseeing general running of the farms fed by the waters this entails the employment and training of new orcs struggling to find work and in times of harvest bringing in the crop if extra hands are needed.
powers | |||
The Farmer has no legal powers, but receives a bounty of crystal mana sifted from the stream or panned from the soil. From this bounty the holder of the title draws an income of 9 crystal mana a season and in seasons of good harvest the most prosperous farmers gift produce from their crops.
Appointment | |||
The title is selected by unanimous decision of the Imperial Orcs senators. If a unanimous decision cannot be reached, the title may be appointed by the Imperial Senate instead. It is expected that the person appointed have an understanding of spring magic and the general working of farm life
or a willingness to learn about them.
The title can be held by any Imperial Orc citizen. The Farmer has tenure, and serves until they die or step down. They can be revoked by the General Assembly, the Imperial Orc National Assembly, and by the Assembly of the Nine.
