The [[Casinea#Greatwood\|Greatwood]] in particular has pockets of predatory wilderness well away from the sight of the chapterhouses. In places like these, angerous beasts may sometimes lair. For the most part they cause problems only for those who venture into the woods but there are exceptions.

			Case in point. A small group of [[the Brass Coast\|Freeborn]] entrepreneurs have apparently managed to capture a [[Legendary_beasts#Mandowla\|mandowla]] in the woods. This raises a few eyebrows - the deadly creatures are by no means native to Casinea, being found much more commonly on the edges of the Empire. Being Freeborn, they have decided to make the most of their "good luck" by bringing the savage beast to Anvil and offering champions an opportunity to win "fabulous prizes" by surviving in the ring with the beast for a set amount of time. It sounds... risky. The potential for disaster appears high. So obviously they are bringing the beast to Anvil around half-past-six on Saturday and will be dragging it down to the Glory Square in Dawn to set up their challenge.

			A couple of skepitcal folk remember talk of [[Wish_you_were_here#The_Trapped_and_the_Trappers\|Winterfolk trappers]] bringing some kind of dire beast to the Spring summit. It's not entirely clear if they arrived or not. It's not impossible that if they ''didn't'' arrive, this odd mandowla might have something to do with their disappearance.

			Years ago, the Iron Raptors sold commissions - requests to seek out objects - to individual citizens. The Iron Raptors have long since dissolved, and one of their contracts is outstanding. A commission by the Printer's Guild to seek out "''the golden armour of Alderei the Fair''" was made and has been passed from mercenary, to sellsword, to adventurer, to chancer. It has ended up in the hands of ''Milusa Velkovan'', an enterprising wagon-raider who has found an interesting piece of history.

			There is no golden armour of [[Alderei the Fair]]. Successive historians and explorers have found nothing to support it, but ''Milusa'' has found a knife that was at one point owned by the Tyrant-Boyar of Varushka. The wagon-raider will be bringing the piece to Anvil, to the Varushkan camp to show to '''Alderei the Fair''' and hopefully the Printer's Guild. There is no question that the find belongs to Milusa, but they have made clear that they are interested in selling it and that the Printer's Guild and the former general of the [[Iron Helms]] should have the right to make the first offers.

They carry a simple pennant showing a red-haired figure riding astride a lion, leading several figures in the breaking of chains. This is, the travellers explain in only slightly-accented Imperial, ''La Suna Imperiestrino;'' the Empress of the Sun, [[Empress Richilde]]. These are [[:Category:Free Folk\|Free Folk]] - once slaves in [[Asavean Archipelago\|Marracossa]], but now [[Pride\|Proud]] citizens of [[Dawn]] and the Empire.
