			The Sea Wolves are a mercenary free company from Temeschwar formed from the original crew of the Cerberus who helped them reclaim the ship from Asavea. Tragedy had allowed debt collectors to wrench the black and gold barquentine from them. Unwilling to accept this, they swore oaths of loyalty and executed an elaborate heist. They succeeded, but have since avoided Asavean waters; resentment towards the nation runs deep amongst them.

	~~Between mercenary contracts~~ the Sea Wolves ~~sail far~~ and ~~wide trading in fine wines~~, ~~ciders~~ and ~~ports~~. ~~The crew saves a portion of their stock to sell to~~ the ~~heroes at Anvil during each solstice. The~~ Sea ~~Wolf brand~~ is ~~becoming widely known amongst those who fancy themselves connoisseurs of the finer alcoholic beverages~~. This ~~trading inclination means~~ the ~~company maintains a strong business presence in Temeschwar. It uses this financial base to equip and support their martial endeavours~~. When ~~on shore leave the crew is set ‘at~~ licence~~'. They can usually be found in taverns~~, ~~drinking~~, ~~gambling, boasting~~, and ~~fighting; often all at the same time~~. The Sea ~~Wolves' camp is large and loud with entertainers being enthusiastically welcomed to the fireside. Rival bravos~~ are ~~also welcomed although scuffles are to be expected. Fortunately the free company’s cicisbeos are more than capable of soothing~~ a ~~few bruised egos~~.		On the battlefield, the Sea Wolves pride themselves on professionalism: they are a mercenary company, not just some mercenaries. Their black and gold uniform is not just about appearing identical, but a reminder that they are to fight identically and as one. There are no heroes in the Sea Wolves, so the banner is heroic. This discipline has defeated disorganised foes that outnumber them many times.

	~~On the battlefield, the Sea Wolves pride themselves on rigorous professionalism. They fight together, with pole arms and two-handed swords, well supported by battle mages and healers.~~ Their oath reflects their fierce commitment to loyalty, to their financial success, and to their independent lifestyle aboard the Cerberus.		Off the battlefield is another story. When at licence, the bravos are politically-savvy, financially-dominant, and behaviourally-irresponsible. The Sea Wolf “Bar-vos” are a law unto themselves and they party as hard as they work.

			Their oath reflects their fierce commitment to loyalty, to their financial success, and to their independent lifestyle aboard the Cerberus. There is a rumour that their oath finishes with “don’t touch our stuff”, but this is obviously beneath them.

Their guild palace was rebuilt on piles out in the waters of the Caricomare and was, for a while, only reachable by gantries or a chain ferry.

			Adelaarsgilde was founded in the wake of the [[379YE_Spring_Equinox_winds_of_war#Hammer_and_Blade\|liberation of Holberg]] in 379YE by the grandchildren of Hippoliete van Holberg and their spouses. The guild's twin raison d'êtres are to improve the quality of discourse around religion, magic, trade and politics within the Empire, and to introduce their young children to the ways of Anvil, so that they might better become virtuous and clever citizens.

			The most famous Adelaarsgilde venture is The Great Debarcle, a conversation café in Holberg which combines home baked Holbergian delicacies with academic debates. The Great Debarcle is home to Adelaarsekte, which has strong links to the university and has been influential in encouraging Holberg's citizens to extend their hospitality to the Sand Fisher orcs. In Holberg, the café is frequented by both local and visiting priests. Adelaarsgilde is financially supported by a number of businesses, including importers of victuals and fabrics, a bank and trading house, with the latter two being notable for their open policies on pricing. The conversation café is further supported by the family’s bakers, who produce a variety of savoury and sweet goods.

			All members of Adelaarsgilde are trained in dramaturgy, exploring the liminal spaces between Night and Day, and of particular note are their rituals performed through the apprenticing of younger members of the guild - often chaotic affairs replete with mishaps, setbacks, and mayhem.
