	* The citizen may only do this if they are standing in a consecrated area, or in a location designated as belonging to the Synod.
	* The Synod priest is not required to grant the request for sanctuary
	* If the Synod priest does grant sanctuary, the citizen has the turn of an hourglass before they are required to face a magistrate on any charge that might be levelled against them.
	* A citizen who has been granted sanctuary may use that time to gather evidence, support or seek [[Clemency\|clemency]].
