On nights when the moon is full, the howling of wolves can often be heard in forests and hills around Thorn’s Pass, and locals tell stories to travellers about a pack of beast-headed warriors that guard the valley and devour those of ill intent. The Edgestalkers haven’t gone out of their way to dispel those stories.

			These Navarri had been wandering the trods and forests of Brocéliande for many years, but all felt that their place in the Great Dance was about to change. One night, as they rested in the forests of Elerael, their camp was overrun by miasma that had blown in unexpectedly on the wind, forcing them to flee. They fled deeper into the looming and unfriendly forest, not knowing that it was also choked with miasma.

			Blinded and scared, the Navarri scattered and lost each other, certain they would all perish in the dark. Yet fortune favoured them, and faint flickering lamps could be seen in the distance. Without any other choice, they followed the light deeper into the woods. All night they sang around the great oak tree in the middle of the clearing, hoping to attract their companions and come day break many of the group had been reunited, along with others who had found themselves in a similar situation. The survivors laid down their roots at the foot of the lone great oak in the clearing and called themselves the Woodwose steading.
