Embroidered fabric maps hang in simple wooden frames on the walls of the few bedrooms, each one depicting a different nation. The Dawnish map is lovingly embroidered with sumptuous silk threads, rather than the linen or cottons which make up the others. It catches the light of the rising sun through the windows. The cottage also contains a writing room where the stories are collected and made ready for publication.
