Imperial Censor
Overview
The Imperial Censor is an Imperial Title appointed by the Conclave. It was created at the Summer Solstice summit of 380YE. The intent is that the Censor works as part of the Conclave to protect Imperial citizens from dangerous magic.
Responsibilities
The Imperial Censor is responsible for safeguarding the Empire from malign magical items, especially those of unknown or unacceptable provenance.
Powers
Interdiction
The Imperial Censor is empowered to raise a single Declaration of Interdiction each summit to the agenda for debate during a Conclave session. The Civil Service will provide the Imperial Censor with a single writ - to submit their declaration to the Conclave agenda they should complete the writ and hand it to the office of the Prefect of the Conclave at least one hour before the Conclave session begins.
Unlike a grandmaster, the Imperial Censor is personally responsible for any presentation. While a proxy may be appointed to deliver the presentation, their declaration is recorded as having come from the Imperial Censor.
Appointment
The appointment, replacement, or removal of the Imperial Censor is made by the Declaration of Candidacy as part of a Conclave session. The Imperial Censor serves until they are replaced by another magician using the Declaration of Candidacy. As a title in the Conclave, they cannot be revoked.
